Katie is an associate at Chatten-Brown Law Group who has worked on matters involving the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), California Coastal Act, Endangered Species Act, and the Public Trust Doctrine. Her past experience includes:

• ​Trial court and appellate litigation on behalf of the Sierra Club, successfully challenging several proposed sprawl developments in San Diego County under CEQA for their greenhouse gas (GHG) emission impacts;
• Review and/or coordination of the quantification of GHG emissions and Vehicles Miles Travelled associated with projects, including Climate Action Plans; and
• Advocacy on behalf of local community members for increased protection of the Western Snowy Plover and environmentally sensitive habitat areas in the Santa Ana River mouth.​

Katie graduated summa cum laude from University of San Diego School of Law in 2021, where she interned with Los Angeles Waterkeeper, Casa Cornelia Law Center, the San Diego City Attorney’s Office, and Accountability Counsel. Prior to working at Chatten-Brown Law Group, she worked at Chatten-Brown, Carstens & Minteer. 

Katie studied Economics and Environmental Studies at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, where she played for the women’s soccer team. Prior to attending law school, she coached with Soccer Without Borders. Katie currently serves as a Board Member for San Diego Coastkeeper.

Born and raised in San Diego, Katie loves Torrey Pines hikes, fish tacos, scuba diving, and soccer.
